This morning we woke up and had a lazy morning. In the afternoon, we set out on a trip to Ikea. We went to look for a bed and a desk for Avery's room. She had been asking for a desk to some time, and we decided to wait until our move to surprise her. The trip to Ikea was challenging to say the least. I was trying to concentrate and purchase the right items and the kids were acting crazy in the store. I had just about had it with the kids behavior by the time we were headed to the checkout lane and was about to lose it, when I passed a mom and overheard her telling her children "I am never, never-ever bringing you two to Ikea again. Never-ever." I smiled and realized that I wasn't alone. Somehow things seemed a lot brighter after that, although the kids' behavior didn't improve significantly. Here is a photo of Avery's at her new desk:
Later that evening, we went to dinner with Paul's coworker Josh Mazander and his wife Danielle. We went to Otello, a restaurant on Oxford street and had a delicious meal. On Danielle's recommendation, I ordered Gnocchi and it was out of this world. Otello has become one of my favorite restaurants. Compared to earlier that day, the kids were very well-behaved and were very sweet to the Mazander's adorable daughter Adalyn who is eight months-old.
