The Wagner Family Down Under: The Big Day! January 3, 2012

Today was the day we boarded our flight to Brisbane, Australia! I was pretty excited, but I was nervous that I was forgetting something. The day was a busy one. The kids spent one last day with Nanny & Papa, I met some friends for one last lunch, and then by 5 p.m. we were on our way to the airport. We each took 2 suitcases and a carry-on. It was a lot of luggage!

Everything went well at the airport and we boarded our four-hour flight to Los Angeles. The flight went well and we arrived in Los Angeles at 9 p.m. Our flight to Brisbane was scheduled to depart at 11 p.m.

At 11 p.m. we boarded the plane and found that our seats in Business Class were not together! Avery and I sat together and Paul and the boys were seated in separate seats in front of us. It worked out okay. The kids were great on the flight. They were asleep before dinner arrived about an hour into the flight. Here are some photos of the kids on the plane:

After Avery fell asleep, I went to check on Mason. I found the poor kid asleep with his chair fully upright!

He didn't even wake up as I reclined his seat.

I woke the next "morning" to Avery tapping on my arm. She was wide awake. I put her movie on and got to rest a little bit longer.

When I woke up, I got Avery an apple and went to check on the boys. I walked up to the front of the plane and found Mason awake staring at the chair in front of him. I asked him why he wasn't watching a movie and he said he couldn't get his screen to work. I looked over at Paul and he was snoozing away across the hall. I asked Mason how long he had been sitting there and he said a few hours! Poor kid, after I got him situated, I walked up a few rows and found Colin happily watching movie.
